At the beginning of 1965, Georgie’s version of ‘Yeh Yeh’ gave him a new pop audience and as time went on his material moved further and further away from those original American and Jamaican roots. In 1967 he was sat at number one again with ‘The Ballad of Bonnie And Clyde’ which seemed a million miles away from where it all began.
